What we offer
Zurich Insurance Nordic Trainee Programme is designed to give you the possibility to explore different functions within an international insurance company while helping you grow so that you can start your career with a strong foundation of workplace knowledge, skills and trainings.
As a trainee, you will experience the breadth and depth of our business in a supportive environment. You will get to take responsibility and have plenty of learning opportunities. From day one you are employed with a 6-months’ probation period that will transfer to a permanent employment. The Programme
- Set-up:
The programme last 18 months and during that time Zurich will provide you with opportunities to gain valuable insights by letting you rotate through 3 to 4 different functions. During your first weeks you will be introduced to the basics of the insurance business. You will have a home function and after completing the traineeship you will belong to one them. - International:
One of the rotations will be to another Nordic country and you will also visit some of our other Zurich countries to get valuable insights and build a global network. - Support:
To help you succeed you will get support from a mentor during the entire programme as well as a coach in all the teams you will rotate through. - Network:
You will build your network by creating relationships with other trainees, colleagues in the different functions and also external contacts in your day-to-day job. You will attend various meetings and events. The network you establish will stay with you as your career progresses. - Development:
Explore and develop your skills and talents. During the programme you will get the opportunity to grow by taking a lot of responsibility but also by attending trainings that will help with your development so that you can excel personally and professionally.

Claims
Our Nordic Claims department works with local and global customers within different business segments.
As a claims handler, your main responsibility will be to handle claims of different complexity in the most effective, proactive, and efficient way whilst delivering excellent service supporting both the customer and Zurich.
A claims handler takes care of the process from start to settlement when a claim is made on our insured policies. Claims handlers communicate with stakeholders, such as customers, brokers, claimants, experts, underwriters, and other colleagues in able to find out if a claim is covered under the insurance - and if it is, solve it.

You are a team player, fast moving and solution-oriented. You like working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers and colleagues.
During the Trainee programme you will build skills required to support one of our customers in segments that can include Liability, Property, Financial Lines, Marine, Accident & Health or Engineering Lines and Construction.

Underwriting
Our Nordic underwriters work with a wide range of customers within different business segments where they evaluate risks for large and multinational companies.
As an underwriter, you will build up and be responsible for your own portfolio of contracts and customers with assignments such as premium setting, quotations, negotiations and measuring exposure and analysing risk. You will underwrite complex new and renewal business as well as build relationships in support of customer/business acquisition and retention.
As a person, you are a team player and an analytical thinker. You are data driven and have a strong business and service focus as well as an interest in customer relationships and negotiation. You are fast moving and flexible. You like working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers and colleagues.
During the Trainee programme you will build skills required to support our customers in segments that can include Liability, Property, Financial Lines, Marine, Accident & Health or Engineering Lines and Construction.
The international aspect of the traineeship has allowed me to meet colleagues from different Zurich offices, while the rotations between different teams within the company will provide me with the ability to experience multiple stages in insurance - from the sale of an insurance policy all the way to the claims handling.
